Bathing in a warm bath can open the pores and alleviate the swelling and irritation of the skin caused by shaving and waxing.
Apple cider vinegar has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that act to relieve itching and irritated skin. Black tea bags are also great in treating irritated skin after shaving because black tea contains tannic acid. During shaving, micro-cuts and skin irritation can occur, which the acetic acid in apple cider vinegar can soothe. Because coconut oil is firm in colder climates, it melts in contact with the skin when a person applies it and this gives a feeling of comfort. Mix four tablespoons of coconut oil with one tablespoon of honey, two tablespoons of brown sugar and two tablespoons of white sugar.
